With more popular games, such as World of Warcraft, a lot of bloggers and online marketers alike love to start blogs on specific games and offer tips, items and even e-book strategy guides that they can sell and get commissions from. Through affiliate marketing, these people don’t even have to create or own their own e-book strategy guides and walkthroughs and just sell someone else’s and earn commissions.

The Android Apps HQ: Android’s Law

I’ve been a computer guy my entire life. I actually don’t recall ever not having a computer…I believe I received my original computer whilst I was four years old. It was an new Texas Instrument 4A model that did not even have storage capabilities. All throughout my childhood I watched as bigger and better computers were released. There was the 8086, after that the 286, 386, 486, gbwhatsapp Pentium, Dual Core, Quad Core, and I think there’s an i9 manufactured by Intel currently; however, don’t quote me on it. I quit attempting to stay up with computers during the early part of the decade.

That’s when I got into the cellular phone business. I first started with Radio Shack and got a Samsung A400 for myself. It was this smooth diminutive handset (smaller than the Motorola RAZR that came 4 years later). I switched 3 months afterward to the N400, subsequently the A500, and just kept on going with it. With every improvement it seemed the phones got additional capabilities and additional power.

With computers, the phenomenon of more power is called Moore’s Law, which in essence states that scientists can double computer power more or less every year and a half. (Gordon Moore was one of the co-founders of Intel and wrote a paper documenting this during 1965.)

I woke up this morning and discovered that a writer from CNN Money has taken Moore’s Law and updated it for the cell phone generation coining the term Android’s Law. It demystifies why the RAZR stayed around for 5 years, and the old-school Palm Treos lasted three to four years, the Blackberry Pearl 2-3 years, etc., but modern-day Android-based phones can’t last six months.

I think you understand by now that I have the HTC Droid Incredible from Verizon and I swear by it. It came out approximately a year ago and is already considered a fossil by smartphone standards, but it makes me joyously content. According to Android’s Law, though, I imagine it’s already considered lifeless. My mother got a Motorola Droid 2 in December of 2010 and it was already discontinued when I got my Incredible during January 2011.
